When our jaws do not have the necessary space to hold our wisdom teeth, the teeth, which often become enclosed within the soft-tissue or bone, will try to make their own space.

Regardless of your age, young or old, this attempt at creating space can yield repercussions that are evident and negative. Since they rarely come out straight, these teeth become impacted and sometimes cause these other health problems:

• Due to insufficient space, the other teeth in your mouth become crowded.

We usually recommend the removal of the 3rd molar at a fairly young age, in order to prevent these negative consequences. Extracting the tooth before the full development of the root, typically means allowing the dentist to pull it while the patient is still in their mid to late teens.

This tends to allow for an easier extraction and faster recovery for the patient.
